BOTOX FOR HYPERHIDROSIS

As highly skilled Botox injectors, we specialize in managing a variety of conditions using Botox, including hyperhidrosis or excessive sweating. Let’s discover how this treatment can bring you comfort and confidence.

UNDERSTANDING HYPERHIDROSIS:

Hyperhidrosis is a medical condition that causes excessive sweating, beyond what is needed to regulate body temperature. It can occur in different areas of the body, including the armpits, palms, soles, or face. Hyperhidrosis can significantly impact one’s quality of life, causing embarrassment, social anxiety, and discomfort.

HOW BOTOX HELPS:

Botox (Botulinum toxin) is best known for its cosmetic benefits, but it also provides a highly effective treatment for hyperhidrosis. Botox injections work by blocking the nerves that trigger your sweat glands. When you have hyperhidrosis, your nerves over-communicate with your sweat glands, leading to excessive sweating. Botox interrupts this communication, reducing the amount of sweat produced in the treated areas. It’s a safe and quick procedure that can provide relief for several months at a time.

TREATMENT PROCESS:

Dring a typical Botox session for hyperhidrosis, the target area is first cleaned and a numbing cream may will be applied for your comfort. Using a very fine needle, Botox is then injected into the skin. Each treatment usually involves several injections to ensure coverage of the entire area. The session is relatively quick, usually lasting between 20-30 minutes.

RESULTS AND FOLLOW-UP :

While individual results vary, many patients begin to notice a reduction in sweating within the first week after treatment. The full effect can usually be observed within two weeks. The duration of relief varies from person to person but typically lasts between 4 to 14 months. Regular follow-up treatments are necessary to maintain the results.

Aftercare Instructions for Botox for Hyperhidrosis

After your Botox treatment, you can return to most of your regular activities immediately. However, there are a few aftercare instructions to ensure you achieve the best possible results:

AVOID STRENUOUS EXERCISE FOR 24 HOURS-

This helps prevent the spread of Botox from the injection site to non-target muscles.

DO NOT APPLY PRESSURE OR MASSAGE THE TREATED AREA –

This could potentially cause the Botox to move to an unintended area.

AVOID HOT BATHS, SAUNAS, OR HEAT EXPOSURE FOR 24 HOURS –

This can increase the risk of bruising.

USE A COLD PACK FOR COMFORT –

Some people may experience minor discomfort or slight bruising at the injection site. A cold pack can help reduce these symptoms.

Avoid underarm deodourant with Aluminum for the next 2 weeks if possible. Because your armpits are very absorbing, especially with many new injections, Aluminum in deodourant can enter the body easier at this time. Aluminum is a known neurotoxin. For this reason, we advise that you use underarm deodourant without Aluminum for at least 2 weeks after your treatment.

KEEP HYDRATED –

Drinking water helps to maintain your overall health and also aids in the recovery process. Report any side effects – Side effects are rare but can include temporary muscle weakness or mild pain at the injection site. If you notice any unusual symptoms, please contact our clinic immediately.
