MICRONEEDLING AFTERCARE INSTRUCTIONS

AFTER-CARE  GUIDELINES  FOR  MICRONEEDLING

Microneedling is a minimally invasive skin rejuvenation procedure that involves using a device with fine needles to create tiny punctures in the top layer of the skin. This triggers the body’s wound healing process, stimulating collagen and elastin production. For optimal results and a smooth healing process, please follow these after-care guidelines:

SOOTHE YOUR SKIN:

After your microneedling procedure, your skin may feel a bit sensitive, similar to a mild sunburn. Use a gentle, soothing moisturizer or serum (preferably with hyaluronic acid) to help hydrate and calm the skin. Avoid any skincare products with active ingredients like retinols, vitamin C, or alpha/beta hydroxy acids for at least 48 hours post-procedure as these may irritate your skin.

AVOID SUN EXPOSURE:

Protect your skin from the sun’s harmful UV rays as it will be more sensitive post-procedure. Limit sun exposure, wear a broad-spectrum non-chemical sunscreen of at least SPF 40 such as Tizo, and consider wearing a hat when outdoors for extra protection.

SKIP THE MAKEUP:

It’s best to let your skin breathe and heal for at least 24 hours after microneedling. Avoid applying makeup, which can cause irritation and may even lead to an infection.

STAY HYDRATED:

Drink plenty of water to help your skin stay hydrated from the inside out, promoting the healing process.

DON’T TOUCH YOUR FACE:

To avoid potential infection, try not to touch your face unnecessarily. Always ensure your hands are clean when applying products to your skin.

NO INTENSE PHYSICAL ACTIVITY:

Avoid intense physical exercise, saunas, or steam baths for the first 24-48 hours after treatment. Excessive sweating and heat can irritate the skin.

Gentle Cleansing: Cleanse your face with a gentle, pH-balanced, non-foaming cleanser such as ZO Gentle Cleanser. Avoid using exfoliating brushes or sponges until your skin has fully healed.

PATIENCE IS KEY:

Remember, the full results of your microneedling treatment won’t be visible immediately.

Skin regeneration takes time, and you’ll typically see the full results in a few weeks. Always follow the specific after-care instructions given by your aesthetician or medical professional, as they will be tailored to your individual skin needs and treatment specifics. If you have any concerns or experience any unusual reactions following your microneedling procedure, contact your aesthetician or medical professional immediately.
