What is a consultation?

Your consultation is your personalized roadmap to healthier, more radiant skin. A cosmetic consultation is free for the first 15 minutes. An extended consultation takes 30 minutes to an hour: we do an advanced skin analysis using Alma IQ technology, review your current skincare products, discuss any treatments you have tried, and create a customized Skin Quality Plan tailored to your goals and lifestyle.

Achieving beautiful skin is not about more products; it is about the right products for the right skin type, at the right time, in the right layers. Education is everything, and the consultation simplifies your routine and gives you the confidence to care for your skin effectively.

Consultations are also available virtually. Skin consultations are with one of our clinical aestheticians; virtual consultations about injectables, such as Botox, dermal fillers, injectable bio-enhancers and lifting threads, are with a nurse practitioner or doctor. A virtual consultation covers your goals and areas of concern, an evaluation of volume loss and wrinkles, whether you are a candidate for specific treatments, contraindications, effects and expectations, and skincare for your skin type. It runs over Jane, the clinic’s booking platform, on a laptop, desktop or phone, and generally takes 15 to 25 minutes.

  • A customized Skin Quality Plan: in-clinic treatments and medical-grade skincare

FAQ

Is the consultation free?

A cosmetic consultation is free for the first 15 minutes. If you would like to continue, we explain the charge before we go on: a longer cosmetic consultation is $50 in total, which can go toward a treatment or product. You don’t need to use it the same day, and it never expires. A virtual consultation takes a $50 deposit, which can go toward a treatment or product when you attend. Medical consultations, such as medical Botox, the hormone program or a visit with Dr. Lotze, take a $50 deposit when you book. It goes toward your treatment; for a visit with Dr. Lotze, toward a treatment with her. If you come and decide not to have treatment, it is kept as credit. If you cancel within 24 hours or don’t come, it is not refunded.

What happens to my deposit?

If you paid a $50 deposit when you booked, it counts toward the $50 for a longer consultation; it is not an extra charge. If you come to a free 15-minute cosmetic consultation and buy nothing, we refund the deposit to your original payment method, or you can keep it as credit. No purchase is required. If you cancel within 24 hours of your appointment or don’t come, $50 is charged; if you paid a deposit, we keep it instead of charging another $50.

How long does it take?

The free cosmetic consultation is 15 minutes. An extended consultation in clinic takes 30 minutes to an hour. A virtual consultation generally takes 15 to 25 minutes.

Can it be virtual?

Yes. Virtual consultations run over Jane, the clinic’s booking platform, on a laptop, desktop or phone, and are tailored to most aesthetic needs, such as Botox and dermal filler.

What should I bring?

All of your current skincare products, so your aesthetician can review your routine and show you how and when to use each one. Arrive with a clean face, free of makeup, sunscreen or skincare, for the most accurate skin analysis.

Who does the consultation?

Skin consultations are with one of our clinical aestheticians, in clinic or virtually. Virtual consultations about injectables, such as Botox, dermal fillers, injectable bio-enhancers and lifting threads, are with a nurse practitioner or doctor, who reviews your medical history, discusses your goals and assesses whether the treatment suits you. An in-person assessment may also be needed before treatment.
