What is Celluma red light therapy?

Celluma LED light therapy is a non-invasive treatment that uses specific wavelengths of light to support skin rejuvenation, manage acne and help the skin recover. Depending on your skin concerns, it may help improve the appearance of redness, fine lines, uneven texture and dull skin. It also helps reduce inflammation.

We use the Celluma PRO, which has three wavelengths and no ultraviolet. Blue light (465 nm) is used for mild to moderate inflammatory acne. Red light (640 nm) is used for skin rejuvenation and the appearance of fine lines. Near-infrared light (880 nm) is used to calm the skin and support recovery.

It can follow microneedling, PRP, chemical peels, cosmetic injectables and laser procedures. The red light calming setting helps the skin settle and recover.

Celluma light treatment can also be booked as part of a light therapy facial, on its own or after Fractora, Opus, microneedling or a chemical peel, to reduce inflammation.

FAQ

Does it hurt?

No. You feel a gentle warmth and no discomfort.

Is there downtime?

Generally none. Most people return to their normal activities straight away.

How often should I have it?

It depends on your skin concerns and goals. A series of treatments may be recommended for acne or skin rejuvenation.

Can I add it to another treatment?

Yes. The red light calming setting can follow microneedling, PRP, chemical peels, injectables and laser, to help the skin settle and recover.

How long is a session?

15 minutes per treatment area.

Is it right for everyone?

Not always. Pregnancy or breastfeeding, a history of seizures, light-sensitising medication, a recent corticosteroid injection or a tumour in the treatment area can rule it out or change the plan. Your clinician reviews your medical history first.
