Chemical Peel Pre & Post Care

Chemical Peel Pre & Post Care

Preparation for a Chemical Peel

Stop using Retin-A and or high potency AHA and BHA products for at least 7 days prior to your appointment. This will reduce your risk of developing an adverse skin reaction.
Do not squeeze, poke, or extract any pimples! This leaves your skin at risk for infection and scarring.
Ensure you are not pregnant or breast feeding. There have been no studies to determine the safety of chemical peels on an unborn or breast feeding baby.
Avoid sun exposure or tanning beds for at least two weeks prior to your peel
Avoid microneedling, waxing, or cosmetic injections on the face or neck for at least 2 weeks prior to your peel.
Avoid wearing make-up the day of treatment

Post Treatment Expectations

Expect slight redness lasting 1-12 hours

Expect that your skin will feel tighter and "pulled" the first night

Expect light to moderate exfoliation or flaking of skin in a few localized areas (usually around the nose and mouth) for 3-7 days post treatment (only for peels stronger than the Red Carpet 30% Lactic Acid peel).

Expect softer, glowing, and brighter skin
